Hair Transplantation – What You Need to Know

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure that moves healthy hairs to areas of the scalp where they are thinning or balding. The goal is to provide a fuller head of hair that looks natural. It can be used to treat baldness caused by aging or male pattern baldness, as well as alopecia areata (hair loss from scarring).헤어라인교정모발이식

Before hair transplant surgery, you and your doctor will discuss your goals for treatment and decide how many hairs you want to move and where they should go. Your surgeon will also determine whether you are a good candidate for the procedure by evaluating your medical history, including any medications you take and whether you’ve tried other treatments such as minoxidil or finasteride.

During the procedure, you’ll be under local anesthesia. Your surgeon cleans your scalp and injects medicine to numb the back of your head. They may use follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS), in which they remove a 6- to 10-inch strip of skin from the back of your head, or follicular unit extraction (FUE), in which they remove individual hairs directly from the donor site. Regardless of the method, they’ll close the area with stitches. The scars they leave will be concealed in your hair.

Your surgeon and their team will prepare your donor site by making small holes in the scalp where the grafts will be placed. They may use a needle or blade to create the holes. They’ll then cut the hairs from your removed piece of scalp and place them into the holes. These hairs will form the new foundation for your regrown hair. The surgeon and their team will do this for each of the areas where you’re having hair moved.

The transplanted hairs will shed for a few months, but they’ll grow back and begin to look more natural over time. Some people see new growth as early as three months after the procedure, but it can take up to a year for everyone to have fully grown-out results.

If you’re not satisfied with your results, you can have another session to add more grafts or change the placement of existing grafts. The more sessions you have, the better chance of getting the results you desire.

It’s important to follow your surgeon’s instructions for postprocedure care to increase the chances of successful hair growth. You should avoid strenuous activities and wait a few days before washing your hair. You should also follow your doctor’s instructions for using any medications you’ve been prescribed.모우다의원
